CHILDREN OF WAR: RETHINKING STRATEGIES FOR THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN IN ARMED CONFLICTS

Abstract

Children have been suffering from unimaginable miseries due to war conditions for decades. Despite the technological evolution and development of humans in the present era, children belonging to war ravaged regions are still going through unspeakable afflictions and struggles. This research proposes possible strategic and significant measures that must be taken in order to protect children from misery, pain and unjust killing. Proper implementation of UN conventions, cancellation of veto power and effective monitoring system should be exercised to mitigate violence and to ensure a system of stability. In order to save children and guarantee their well being, effective mechanisms are needed to curtail the authority of those state politicians and capitalists who commit war crimes against innocent children. The study emphasizes that all children irrespective of their nationality, religion, culture and race deserve to live in a world of harmony, affection and peace.
